| Not exactly sure what happened to George's post stating that the car is "useless" because it spins through first and second, but my reply to it is gone as well. Here's my rebuttal to that nonsense. THIS is why it isn't as big of a deal as some naysayers think: 1) You can now lower the boost and get the same effective acceleration that you had before. Let's say a person runs 14 psi on the street and had traction through all three gears before. Now, let's say that person gets the gears tries to run 14psi. Sure, they might spin the tires in 1st and/or part of 2nd without good tires/traction. However, they can easily lower the boost, which will regain traction and have can potentially have an equally quick car. Then when you ARE in a situation with more traction (i.e. drag strip, track tires, etc) you can turn up the boost again and have a wickedly fast car. The car is far from useless with the gears. In fact, I much prefer it because *I* have more control now. I can run LESS boost and have an EQUALLY quick car. That's a good thing where I come from. Imagine being able to be as quick as running 18psi on the highway with race gas but only needing 15psi and pump gas. Easier on the car and easier on my wallet. 2) While the above method works just fine, people with certain boost controllers can adjust the boost per gear and have it even easier. With my AVC-R I can turn it down in 1st to the point where I walk the line of traction and then turn it way up in 2nd. I can tune it to stick if I want. This is not the "end all" issue some people repeatedly try to make it out to be. In fact, they are grossly limiting the options and making it out to be a big deal when it isn't. If I'm wrong about any of this, set me straight.
